Wedding Dress Protection
If you're purchasing an event insurance plan for your wedding, or if you're a wedding planner securing coverage for a client, it’s worth considering the inclusion of a Wedding Dress Coverage benefit.
This coverage protects against loss due to accidental damage, destruction, or theft of the wedding gown.
If the dress is owned by the bride, purchased or custom-tailored specifically for the ceremony, the policy will reimburse the full purchase price in the event of an insured loss. In cases where the dress is rented, or borrowed, the insurance will cover its actual value, with deductions for wear and tear in the event of total loss. For partial damage, such as an accidental stain, the policy can cover the cost of professional cleaning or restoration.
Importantly, Wedding Dress Coverage is available on a worldwide basis; making it ideal for destination weddings where transporting delicate items like a wedding gown carries added risk.
Please note that this benefit does not cover damage from normal wear and tear, weather-related incidents (unless the wedding is declared as an outdoor event), or intentional damage during "Trash the Dress" photo shoots.
